University of Hawaii enrollment up 1%

The University of Hawai'i's 10-campus system saw enrollment increase by 1 percent this fall, though enrollment at the flagship Manoa campus dropped 1.5 percent from a year ago, UH officials said yesterday.
Overall, 494 more students enrolled in UH campuses this fall than last year, while UH-Manoa saw 301 fewer students.
There are now 50,804 students registered statewide, including 20,006 at Manoa, UH said.
UH-Hilo added 91 students for a total enrollment of 3,608 — a 2.6 percent gain. UH-West O'ahu saw enrollment jump 8.2 percent by adding 74 students, for a fall enrollment of 971.
UH's seven community colleges overall added 630 students for a 2.5 percent jump. There are now 26,219 community college students in the UH system:
