West Coast flights as low as $127

ATA Airlines has begun another fare sale, with flights between Hawai'i and the West Coast for as low as $127 one way.
The air carrier is offering the $127 fare between Oakland and Honolulu, and is promoting a $139 fare between Ontario, Calif., and Hawai'i. It also has a $164 one-way fare between Phoenix and Maui and a $199 ticket for Sacramento-Honolulu flights.
The fare sale continues through Sept. 17 on www.ata.com. Tickets cost $10 more if purchased through ATA's telephone reservations center or its ticket counters.
Some restrictions and blackout dates apply.
TAX EVASION FINES TOTAL $60,000
Zenaida Lopez, a tax-return preparer and real-estate agent, has been fined $60,000 after pleading guilty to six felony tax-evasion counts and six misdemeanor charges.
The state Tax Department said Circuit Judge Michael A. Town last week fined Lopez $2,500 for each misdemeanor count stemming from a failure to file returns. He also levied a $7,500 fine for each felony violation. Lopez also was placed on probation for five years.
VERIZON WIRELESS MILITARY OPTION
Verizon Wireless announced that the company has revised its contract policies to make it easier for customers in the military to manage their accounts when called to active duty.
Under the new policy, active military personnel may suspend their accounts for up to 48 months.
Customers currently deployed on active duty who have already suspended their Verizon Wireless accounts will be grandfathered into the new program, unless a specific automatic reconnect date has been requested. In addition, customers whose military deployment is extended beyond their original request may renew their suspension for a second 24 months.
