TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"The Biggest Loser," 7 p.m., NBC. In last week's opener, 12 of the contestants were assigned to trainers Bob Harper or Kim Lyons. The other six supposedly went home. Instead, they secretly worked out with the intense Jillian Michaels. Now the three six-person teams meet.
OF NOTE
"Vertigo" (1958), 5 p.m., AMC. Not all Alfred Hitchcock movies are dark and brooding. This one has a bright look and feel, even amid death. James Stewart plays a retired cop, afraid of heights, tailing a mysterious beauty (Kim Novak).
"Damages," 7 p.m., FX. Patty still can't find her main witness, so she needs a new strategy.
"Live From Lincoln Center," 8 p.m., PBS. The New York Philharmonic opens its 166th season with a night of Dvorak music. That includes the Symphony No. 7, plus "Carnival Overture" and Yo-Yo Ma performing the Cello Concerto.
"Elvis: Viva Las Vegas," 8 p.m., ABC. Elizabeth Vargas shows clips from Elvis Presley's Las Vegas years, including some not shown before. Also, Presley's songs are performed by current stars; guest stars include Toby Keith and Joe Perry.
"K-Ville," 8 p.m., Fox. If you missed the show's debut Monday, here's a second chance. The setting (New Orleans) and star (Anthony Anderson) are terrific; the opening plot, however, tends to be overblown.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Chris Bridges, known as Ludacris in the music world, repeats his role as the troubled nephew of Tutuola (Ice-T).
"NCIS," 9 p.m., CBS. Tony and his girlfriend are held captive by drug dealers. Also, staffers fume about the requirement that they take lie-detector tests.
