Clint Schroeder has been promoted to vice president of advertising at The Honolulu Advertiser.
"Clint has proven himself as a solid leader and advertising executive," said Lee Webber, The Advertiser's president and publisher. "He knows our business, the Hawai'i market and what we need to do to continue growing our position as Hawai'i's complete source of news and information."
Schroeder was named ad director in December, assuming oversight of all advertising, marketing and commercial printing operations.
"I look forward to continuing to work with such a talented staff," Schroeder said. "We have the best sales team I have seen anywhere."
He joined The Advertiser as retail ad director in April 2006 after serving as vice president of advertising for the NorthWest News Group of Greater Chicago, a subsidiary of Shaw Newspapers. Before joining Shaw in 2002, he spent four years working in advertising management for Lehman Communications Inc. in Loveland and Longmont, Colo.
He served as the executive director for Mountain Ad Managers of Denver, Colo., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable training opportunities to small and mid-sized daily and weekly newspapers in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Nebraska. In 2005, Schroeder was named to the Newspaper Association of America's Presstime magazine's "Top 20 Under 40."
He was on the strategic foundation committee for Chicago Jobs.com, the first newspaper consortium recruitment Internet site in the United States.
Schroeder's community involvement has included various positions and assistance to Rotary International, Lions Club, numerous chambers of commerce, Relay for Life and United Way.
He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in political science, and is close to completing an executive MBA from Cardean University in Chicago.
