Hawaii bowlers excel at nationals

Two bowlers from Hawai'i competed at the Denny's All-American High School Championships, held March 28 to 30 in North Brunswick, N.J.
Suzana Signaigo, a St. Andrew's Priory senior, finished fourth in girls match play. Signaigo, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, knocked down 3,247 pins. She was second after the qualifying round.
In boys match play, Kalani's Peter Mochizuki finished sixth, knocking down 3,164 pins. Mochizuki, who was 13th at the state tournament, was fifth after the qualifying round.
The Professional Bowlers Association and United States Bowling Congress selected the 32 bowlers for the tournament based on accomplishments, academics and other criteria.
