Burglary suspect caught in Honolulu Harbor

A Chinatown burglary suspect who dove into Honolulu Harbor early this morning was captured by police with an assist from the Honolulu Fire Department.
Police responding to an alarm call encountered the suspect inside a convenience store at 1:45 a.m. The man, 30, ran out the front door and dived into the Nu'uanu Stream outlet to Honolulu Harbor. With the assistance of HFD's fire boat, the suspect was taken from the water and arrested at 111 North Nimitz Street at 3:35 a.m.
The man, who has no local address and five criminal convictions, was booked for second-degree burglary.
