Charges are pending against a 23-year-old man who allegedly entered a Wai'anae residence early today and sexually assaulted the wife of an acquaintance.

The incident was reported to police at 5 a.m.

The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree sex assault.

The 28-year-old woman complainant's husband attempted to chase down the suspect, who was later arrested at his residence.
