Retired district manager of circulation at Hawai'i Newspaper Agency; served as mission president of the Japan Tokyo Mission from 1971 to 1974; stake president of the Honolulu, Hawai'i West Stake from 1981 to 1990; as the Japan Tokyo Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, president from 1991 to 1992. Survived by wife, Helen "Lorraine" Fujimoto Abo; daughters, Nan Healy, Joye Lefrandt and Fay Francis; sons, Ben and Todd; 13 grandchildren; brother, Hiromi; sisters, Yaeko Akagi, Sumako Clark and Betty "Cookie" Kim.
