Jo Ito was named Mid-Pacific's athletic director, today.

Ito comes to Mid-Pacific after teaching physical education at 'Iolani, officiating Interscholastic League of Honolulu basketball games and coaching club soccer. Prior to that, he spent five years as athletic director at International School of Dusseldorf in Germany.

Ito has also served as a fitness program director and coached basketball, softball and track and field. He holds a master's in exercise and sports science and is a member of the the 50th State Basketball Officials Association.

Ito replaces the position vacated by Bill Villa, who left in July to become Chaminade University's athletic director.
