Damage from Sunday fire estimated at $30,000
A fire on Sunday caused an estimated $30,000 damage to a Big Island home at 28-2845 Maukaloa St. in Pepe'ekeo.
Firefighters responded to a 10:56 a.m. alarm and found neighbors battling the fire to the 1,400-square-foot structure with garden hoses. No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported under control at 11:10 a.m. The cause is under investigation.
