Jo Ito was named Mid-Pacific's athletic director yesterday.

Ito comes to Mid-Pacific after teaching physical education at 'Iolani, officiating Interscholastic League of Hono-lulu basketball games and coaching club soccer. Prior to that, he spent five years as athletic director at International School of Dusseldorf in Germany.

Ito has also served as a fitness program director and coached basketball, softball, and track and field. He holds a master's degree in exercise and sports science, and is a member of the 50th State Basketball Officials Association.

Ito fills the position vacated by Bill Villa, who left in July to become Chaminade University's athletic director.
