Roderick Flemings had career-highs of 22 points and 13 rebounds, and sparked a second-half rally to lead the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team to a 78-70 victory over Prairie View A&M tonight.

A crowd of 3,090 at the Stan Sheriff Center watched the Rainbow Warriors improve to 3-2 with their third consecutive victory. The Panthers dropped to 3-5.

Flemings, a 6-foot-7 junior, scored 19 during the second half to help the 'Bows erase an 11-point deficit from the first half.

Bill Amis added 16 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots, Lasha Parghalava contributed 11 points, and Petras Balocka scored 10 for Hawai'i.

The Panthers raced to a 9-2 lead to open the game and stayed in front the entire first half. Prairie View led by as many as 11 points in the first half, and eventually took a 37-29 lead at intermission.

The 'Bows caught the Panthers at 43-43 with 13:54 remaining, and it stayed close the rest of the way.

During one stretch of the second half, Flemings scored 13 of Hawai'i's 15 points over a five-minute span.

The score was last tied at 62, then the 'Bows went on a 6-0 run to take a 68-62 lead with 2:36 remaining. Prairie View did not get closer than four the rest of the way.

Hawai'i's next game is scheduled for Monday on the road at Illinois.
