CFB: Police chief issues 'warrant' for Kansas players

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Columbia's interim police chief is taking the sting out of Missouri's loss to Kansas with a little humor.
Capt. Tom Dresner put out a news release announcing that he intended to issue warrants for the arrest of the entire Kansas football team. The charge: robbery, stemming from the Jayhawks' victory over his Missouri Tigers.
The release -- addressed to Lawrence, Kan., Police Chief Ron Olin -- said Columbia's Major Crimes Unit is poised to carry warrants to Douglas County authorities. The Lawrence Journal-World reported Tuesday that Dresner said "It was a robbery in plain daylight."
In response, Lawrence Mayor Mike Dever said he thinks "there needs to be a warrant against the entire MU football team for impersonating a top 10 team."
