Maui radio DJ Henry 'Boy' Kanae dies at 55

KAHULUI, Maui — Hawaiian music disc jockey Henry "Boy" Kana'e, 55, died yesterday at Maui Memorial Medical Center after being found unconscious at his Kahului home by his daughter, according to co-workers at Pacific Radio Group.
Kana'e, known on air as the Hawaiian Supaman, had a show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on KPOA 93.5 FM and was a popular emcee at community events.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
Kana'e was born and raised on Maui in a family of six brothers, according to his biography on the KPOA Web site. He served as cultural adviser to Maui Fest Hawaii and was an associate pastor with Harvest Chapel, Church of God.
Kana'e joined KPOA in 1994.
