On the week of the biggest game of the season for Punahou, the contact period started for NCAA Division I coaches.

That means another hectic week for Punahou senior Manti Te'o, regarded by some as the nation's top linebacker recruit.

With Friday's state championship against Leilehua looming, Te'o got a visit from Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis Monday night.

Brigham Young coach Bronco Mendenhall was scheduled last night and Stanford's Jim Harbaugh is set to visit the Te'os tonight.

Te'o added that Southern California and UCLA are scheduling home visits next week.

Despite reports about Weis' tenure at Notre Dame, Te'o said Weis assured him he would still be the Irish coach next season.

Te'o said he is likely to make his decision near Feb. 4, the first day binding national letters of intent can be signed.

INJURY UPDATE

Leilehua wide receiver Edieson Dumlao has an acromion (shoulder-related) separation, Mules coach Nolan Tokuda said.

Dumlao reinjured the shoulder when he hit the Aloha Stadium FieldTurf hard in Friday's semifinal win against Kahuku. He originally injured the shoulder against 'Iolani Aug. 22.

Dumlao said he will play in Friday's championship game against Punahou.
