Sophomore point guard Keisha Kanekoa had 19 points and 11 rebounds as the University of Hawai'i women's basketball team beat UC Irvine, 74-46, yesterday in the consolation game of the Arizona State Tournament at the Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.

Kanekoa, who added six assists, was named to the all-tournament team.

UH (2-7) also had a balanced scoring attack against the Anteaters (3-4) with four players in double figures. Junior Dita Liepkalne scored 12 points and senior Catherine Cho recorded a career-high 11 points. Sophomore Allie Patterson added 10 points and a career-high nine rebounds.

The Rainbow Wahine went 24 for 26 from the free-throw line.

In the opening half, the Rainbow Wahine made two big runs to take a 38-24. To start the game, UH went on a 10-2 run and added a 13-0 surge to take a 38-20 lead with three minutes remaining in the half.

The Rainbow Wahine return to action Dec. 19 and 22 when they face Washington State twice at the Stan Sheriff Center.

No. 22 Texas Christian 82, No. 3 California 73: Rachel Rentschler scored 16 of her 24 points in the first half and the Horned Frogs (8-2) upset the host Bears (7-1) in the Colliers International Classic championship. Ashley Walker had 31 points — one off her career high — and 12 rebounds, reaching the 30-point mark for the third time this season for Cal. Tournament MVP Helena Sverrisdottir had 17 points and 10 assists, and TK LaFleur finished with 13 points for the Frogs.

No. 5 Texas A&M 80, SMU 48: Takia Starks scored 21 points and the host Aggies (8-0) beat the Mustangs (2-5). Danielle Gant added 13 points and Adaora Elonu finished with 12 for the Aggies, who led 43-18 at halftime. Brittany Gilliam had 18 points and eight rebounds for SMU.

No. 6 Oklahoma 87, Arkansas St. 57: Oklahoma's Courtney Paris had 24 points and 10 rebounds to extend her NCAA record streak of double-doubles to 100 as the Sooners (6-2) beat the host Indians (5-4.) Her sister, Ashley, added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Sooners, who started the second half with a 12-1 run to take a 59-33 lead.

No. 24 Pittsburgh 86, No. 8 Maryland 57: Shavonte Zellous scored 20 of her 26 points in the second half to lead the host Panthers (6-1) to the upset of the Terrapins (7-2). Xenia Stewart had 22 points for the Panthers, who won their sixth straight and beat a top-10 opponent for the second time in school history. Kristi Toliver scored 12 points for Maryland (7-2), which committed 22 turnovers.

No. 9 Texas 74, Mississippi 50: Brittainey Raven scored 16 points as the Longhorns (8-0), who led by as many as 26 points in the second half, beat the host Rebels (7-1). Shawn Goff scored 15 points and Kayla Melson added 10 for Ole Miss.

No. 11 Notre Dame 62, No. 17 Purdue 51: Melissa Lechlitner scored a career-high 19 points and Kellie Watson added 13 to help the host Irish (7-0) overcome a slow start against the Boilermakers (5-3). Lechlitner scored seven points during a decisive 14-4 run, giving the Irish a 41-29 lead on a basket inside with 8:48 left.

No. 12 Duke 60, Michigan 45: Chante Black had 13 points, seven rebounds and six blocked shots and the host Blue Devils (6-1) overcame a season-high 30 turnovers against the Wolverines (5-4), who shot 30 percent, but stayed in the game by making a season-high 10 3-pointers.

No. 13 Louisville 82, Ball State 51: Angel McCoughtry scored 21 points, including 10 straight during a second-half run, to lead host Louisville (7-1) past Ball State (3-3). Candyce Bingham added 15 points and eight rebounds for Louisville. McCoughtry and Bingham combined for 17 points in a 19-4 run that gave Louisville a 54-37 lead with 14 minutes left.

No. 14 Auburn 64, Liberty 53: Sherell Hobbs scored five of her 20 points during a second-half run to help the Tigers (10-0) pull away from the host Lady Flames (1-6). Auburn had two long runs, erasing a 10-point deficit with a 15-0 burst in the first half and then going on an 11-0 spurt to take command down the stretch.

St. Bonaventure 63, No. 21 Michigan St. 52: Katelyn Murray scored a career-high 25 points and made five 3-pointers to lead the host Bonnies (6-1) past the Spartans (6-3). Kalisha Keane led the Spartans with 12 points.

Cincinnati 65, No. 23 Xavier 55: Kahla Roudebush scored 17 points and the host Bearcats (6-2) used a late run to beat their crosstown rival Musketeers (7-3). Freshman Shanasa Sanders scored twice and Angel Morgan hit a 3 for her only points to key a 17-4 run over the last three minutes for Cincinnati.

No. 25 Arizona St. 91, Northern Arizona 65: Danielle Orsillo scored 13 of her 16 points in the first half to lead the host Sun Devils (6-2) over the Lumberjacks (2-7) for the ASU Classic title. Sade Cunningham had 16 points for the Lumberjacks.

Long Beach State 55, Idaho 54: Adele Walton scored 11 points to lead the 49ers (2-4) over the host Vandals (2-5). Idaho sophomore Yinka Olorunnife's basket with 48 seconds left cut the deficit to 55-54, but teammate Derisa Taleni's shot as time expired rolled off the rim. Olorunnife had 20 points.

Cal State Northridge 69, San Jose State 63: Ashley Blake scored 15 points as the host Matadors (1-7) beat the Spartans (1-6). Shaunna Ridge led SJSU with 16 points.

New Mexico State 77, UTEP 67: Danisha Corbett had 21 points and Maidson Spence 20 as the host Aggies (4-4) beat the Miners (4-4). Jareica Hughes led UTEP with 20 points.

Montana 72, Boise State 51: Mandy Morales had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the host Grizzlies (5-2) over the Broncos (4-5). Marisa Stotler had 17 points for Boise State.

UCLA 62, Nevada 47: Darxia Morris had 10 points as the host Bruins (6-1) topped the Wolfpack (4-5). Brandi Jones led Nevada with 16 points.

MEN'S TOP 25

No. 6 Oklahoma 69, Tulsa 44: Blake Griffin had 19 points and nine rebounds, and Willie Warren scored 14 points as the Sooners (8-0) beat the host Golden Hurricane (4-4). Justin Hurtt scored 10 points to lead the Golden Hurricane in the first game played in the new BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.

No. 11 Louisville 91, Ohio 56: Samardo Samuels had 19 points, and Earl Clark had 17 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high eight assists for the host Cardinals (4-1) against the Bobcats (3-3) in the Marques Maybin Classic. Jerome Tillman led Ohio with 21 points and seven rebounds.

No. 12 UCLA 85, CS Northridge 67: Josh Shipp scored 11 of his 14 points in the first half and the host Bruins (5-2) beat the Matadors (1-6). Tremaine Townsend scored a career-high 23 points for the Matadors (1-6).

No. 13 Michigan St. 75, Bradley 59: Chris Allen scored 19 points for the host Spartans (5-2) against the Braves (4-3). The Spartans led by just five points at halftime. But the fast break got rolling and Michigan State led by as many as 21 points in the second half.

No. 19 Arizona St. 64, Nebraska 44: James Harden had 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the host Sun Devils (7-1) in the Pac 10-Big 12 series against the Cornhuskers (6-1). Harden, the Sun Devils' leading scorer coming in with a 26.3 average, had 14 points in the second half.

Florida St. 57, No. 23 Florida 55: Ryan Reid scored four of his 13 points in the final 1:20 to lead the host Seminoles (8-1) to their third win in the intrastate rivalry against the Gators (6-2). Florida's Dan Werner missed a 3-point shot at the buzzer. Nick Calathes led Florida (6-2) with 16 points.
