Pipeline Masters opening round on today

The opening day of the Billabong Pipeline Masters is on today at the Banzai Pipeline.
The first round and perhaps some of the second round could run today. Wave-face heights are in the 10-foot range.
The Pipeline Masters is the final contest in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing series.
The first round will feature Hawai'i's "Pipe Specialists" taking on the international surfers on the World Championship Tour.
Among the Hawai'i surfers scheduled to compete are Jamie O'Brien, Makuakai Rothman, Shane Dorian and Triple Crown points leader Dusty Payne.
Today's heats are scheduled to start at 8 a.m. and finish around 4 p.m.
