Here's a freebie where you get to see a classic film, simply by donating three canned goods. It's all about the spirit of giving.
Consolidated's Ko'olau Stadium theater is presenting a one-time screening of the holiday classic, "It's a Wonderful Life," at 2 p.m. Dec. 21. Bring three canned goods, which will be donated to Hawai'i Foodbank, and there's no admission. The filmgoer who brings the most canned donations will get a free extra large popcorn.
"Consolidated Theatres is excited to start a tradition of holiday movie screenings," said Rachel Gibson, promotions and events manager.
"It's a Wonderful Life" is the 1946 classic by Frank Capra, about George Bailey (portrayed by James Stewart), who contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve, but is rescued by his guardian angel Charles Odbody (Henry Travers), who helps him realize how rich his life is.
