In a high-intensity matchup featuring two of the nation's premier basketball programs, Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) held off LeFlore (Mobile, Ala.), 68-66, last night in the semifinals of the 25th Annual 'Iolani Prep Classic.

Oak Hill, No. 5 in USA Today's latest Super 25 national rankings, will play No. 7 Montrose Christian (Rockville, Md.) in tomorrow's 8 p.m. championship game.

No. 13 LeFlore will face No. 9 Fairfax (Los Angeles) for third place at 6:30.

There are no games scheduled for today.

Last night, before a capacity crowd of about 1,050 at 'Iolani Gym, Oak Hill overcame a 39-point performance by LeFlore center Demarcus Cousins. Oak Hill broke a 34-34 tie on a baseline jumper by Momo Jones with 5:39 remaining in the third period, then built the lead to 59-46 with 5:10 to play after a spectacular two-handed slam dunk by Glenn Bryant.

But the Rattlers, led by the 6-foot-11, 260-pound Cousins, chipped away and closed to 66-64 on his two free throws with seven seconds remaining. Jones then sank two free throws one second later to make it 68-64, and Cousins scored a layup as time expired for the final margin.

Keith "Tiny" Gallon led the Warriors with 17 points, Jones added 15 points, Pe'Shon Howard 12 and Doron Lamb 10.

Marlon Ford had 10 points for LeFlore.

MONTROSE CHRISTIAN 45, FAIRFAX 36

Mouph Yarou scored 12 points and Terrence Ross added 11 to lead the Mustangs past the Lions in semifinal action.

The game was tied 19-19 at halftime, but Montrose Christian opened the third period with an 11-1 run as Fairfax went cold from the field. The Mustangs extended the lead to 38-24 early in the fourth quarter as the Lions went over 11 1/2 minutes in the second half without a field goal.

Fairfax cut it to 43-36 after a 3-pointer by 6-11 center Renardo Sidney with 26 seconds remaining, but Micah Fraction sank two free throws nine seconds later to effectively seal the victory.

Sidney led the Lions with 12 points.

DEMATHA 73, 'IOLANI 51

Naji Hibbert scored 21 points and Josh Selby added 10 to lead the Stags — who are from Hyattsville, Md., and ranked No. 12 by ESPN Rise — past the Raiders in consolation bracket action.

DeMatha will play Whitney Young (Chicago), ranked No. 24 in USA Today's Super 25, in tomorrow's 5 p.m. game for fifth place. 'Iolani will face Putnam City (Oklahoma City, Okla.) at 3:30 p.m. for seventh place.

DeMatha led 21-11 after one quarter, built a 20-point lead in the second period and led 43-29 at halftime, but the Raiders cut it to 51-44 after two free throws by Trevyn Tulonghari with 2:44 remaining in the third period. 'Iolani trailed 54-46 entering the fourth, but the Stags opened the final quarter with a 14-2 run to win going away.

"Ultimately, they were hard to beat," Raiders coach Mark Mugiishi said. "They have size and speed one through five. But at least today we had sustained effort and competed all four quarters. I'm proud of our team."

DeMatha coach Mike Jones said 'Iolani played high-level basketball.

"I was very impressed with how hard they played, and they are very well-coached and disciplined," said Jones, who is in his seventh season after succeeding Hall of Fame coach Morgan Wooten. "(Mugiishi) knows what he has, and he gets the most out of it."

The Stags lost to LeFlore (Mobile, Ala.), 70-58, in Friday's quarterfinals after taking a 48-37 lead into the fourth period.

"That was a crushing loss for us, because of how we were in such a good position to win," Jones said. "We still had some hangover effect from that, but I'm happy with today's win. Any win over a well-coached team like 'Iolani is a good win."
