'Twas the morning of Christmas
And all through the 'aina
Santa was omiyage-ing
From Hawai'i Kai to Lahaina.
For Gov. Lingle he got
One plane ticket to D.C.
So she could finally meet Obama
And make nicey-nicey.
For Mayor Mufi, of course,
The launch of steel rail,
From Kapolei to the airport
Despite Kobayashi's flail.
For Frank DeLima a prayer
For the loss of mom Pearl;
She was the source
For his comedic whirl.
For Robert and Roland
A gigantic red sleigh
For a cast ride to the Shell
So they can resume Lei Day.
And we can't forget Bloody Mary,
There is nothing like this dame;
She's our Loretta in "South Pacific".
With her new Broadway fame.
A Grammy for Amy
Would certainly be hot
But unlike Daniel Ho,
Who's slack-keying, she's not.
For Yessica and Josh Holloway,
Perhaps a nursery is due;
The "Lost" actor's infanticipating
A keiki, it's true.
A hana hou for the Lockyers
That's Melanie and Peter;
With "Les Miz" this year,
They ramped up the meter.
For Leah and Jon
More tunes with that glow;
But 'tis hard to beat
Bruddah's "Over the Rainbow."
For Dog Chapman,
A get-out-of-jail pass;
For Colt Brennan?
Air time! Show 'em class!
For Jake and his uke,
A Jack Johnson duet;
Audy Kimura producing?
Now that's a good bet.
A Hollywood caper
For Jason Scott Lee;
What "Bourne" did for Damon
Could work for you ... whee!
For Emme, more moments
To remember each season;
For Pamela and Gary
No Emmy would be treason.
For Roy Tokujo, a comeback,
After "Waikiki nei";
Perhaps a spectacle with hula
Would elicit hana hou, not auwe.
For Richard Chamberlain
Some future time home-a-lot;
He'll be road-touring next year
With Monty Python's "Spamalot."
For Paul Ogata, a return
To the local airwaves
Even if he earns hurrahs
On the Mainland, with raves.
For Jack Cione, another project
To keep him active and young;
For Jim Nabors, more concerts,
Where "O Holy Night" can be sung.
Another songfest that's jazzy
For suave Jimmy Borges
He sounds and sings
Like he looks. Just gorgeous.
Talofa to the Thompsons,
That's Cha and Papa Jack;
Next year is Tihati's 40th
Of hit shows back-to-back.
For Afatia, that tour
With hip-hop and blues;
As a knife dancer and popster.
He's paid his dues.
For Raiatea Helm perhaps
Another sweet musical deal;
For Hoku Zuttermeister?
Continued kanaka zeal.
Good luck, good showing
For kumu Keali'i Reichel;
At his first Merrie Monarch fest
May he chime the bell!
For Rolando Sanchez,
Katchi-katchi galore
For Todd and Michelle,
A his-and-her golf store.
One monster jam in the sky
With Genoa, Iz, Gabby;
Ki ho'alu by Raymond
Hula by Nona. Not shabby.
For Don Ho, in heaven,
No more family squabbles;
Not the way to remember him
By bursting the bubbles.
For Carole Kai, fundmeister,
Lotsa cash in these slow times;
Hey, every bit counts,
Dollar bills, quarters, dimes.
For Burton, Deena, Dwight,
Vanita, Tom, Joyce:
May your seats be all filled
With applause, how choice!
For Rampage, Nemoto,
Plus Rogers and Wong;
With hot shows, big or small:
You can't go wrong.
For Augie T kala
For his foundation coffers;
It'll add up the totals
For his scholarship offers.
For actor Sean Jones
Perhaps a Broadway slot;
For Kaitlin Kiyan in "Hair"
May the sun shine a lot.
More projects back home
For Ms. Carrere, Tia
Not just in Hollywood
But also ovah heah.
For Roy Sakuma
A parade of 'ukulele strummers;
May his festival endure;
It just "makes" the summers.
For Andreas Delfs
A baton made of gold
Matt Catingub's "Romance" fest?
May it once more unfold.
Perhaps a combo concert
For both SOS groups;
That's Tony's and Richard's.
Both high-energy troops.
For Jasmine and Jordan
An "Idol" showdown here;
Might as well tap Camile, too,
She also was a peer.
And good health, good cheer
For The Makaha Sons;
For Karen Keawehawai'i
More faux flowers. Tons.
For Ho'okena, Maunalua,
Kaukahi, Manoa DNA
A lot of sweet mele
Da ol' Hawaiian way.
Big tours, TV exposure
For Willie, Henry and John;
Getting their albums charted
Was just half the battle won.
For Lisa, it's simple:
A life without cancer
For Aubrey, Bonnie, Sheila
PR leaps like Comet and Prancer.
For Kim Gennaula?
Time with keiki after dinner
Let hubby Guy, with weather,
Be the nighttime breadwinner.
A lei for Gayle Harimoto —
One that she didn't sew;
For dear Marlene Sai
That perennial "Waikiki" glow.
A boffo "Valkyrie" film
For producer Chris Lee;
Plus raves for Tom Cruise
Would bring holiday glee.
More visibility, like concerts,
For the Na Leo camp;
For Palani Vaughan, something neat
Like a Kalakaua stamp!
For Keith and Carmen,
For Randy and Gay,
For Nancy and Al
Togetherness all the way.
More Broadway, even a Tony,
For actor Jason Tam;
For producer McCollum
Musicals with star glam.
For Billy and Shaner,
For Perry and Price,
For Lanai and Skylark,
Huge ratings would be nice.
Non-breaking strings
For all of ki ho'alu's best;
Like Cyril, Ledward, Charles,
Jeff, Cindy and the rest.
For Kaumakaiwa Kananaka'ole
More Hawaiian punch;
The more you hear his mele,
The more you want to munch.
For Tom Moffatt, big shows
With Midler or Bruce;
Why not Madonna
To ramp up the juice?
And crowds for Jimmy Buffett
When he opens his place here.
Perhaps a margarita concert
Would certainly be dear.
For Joe Moore, reinforcements
For the Channel 2 news;
For Dashefsky and News 8
Some content they can use.
Local products for Chai,
Roy, Russell and Mavro;
For Alan W., Alan T,
D.K., Keo ... Bravo!
For Tahiti and Augie.
A big hip-hip hoo-Rey,
For Eddie K. and Melveen
More jams, ol'-style way.
For Millie and Fran
New restaurants to explore;
For Andy Bumatai a new portal
To revisit TV lore.
For keyboarders Kit and Don
A clean bill of health;
For Danny Kaleikini?
Wedding chapel wealth.
For poet Kakugawa,
What else but prime rhyme?
For dancer Kanoe Miller?
Just hula sublime.
For John Hirokawa
New magic, new thrills.
For Keola and Kapono?
Peace. Pau the 'ohana ills.
For Joy Abbott, who sings,
Another CD winnah;
And prayers for Peter Moon
Up there in Wilhelmina.
Kanikapila on the beach,
With Puamana, Olomana;
Perhaps a jam, too,
With C&K and Kalapana.
What else but great movies
For Boller and Rivers;
You know, with titles
Evoking laugher and shivers.
For Joey Caldarone,
A return to the stage;
To Mark Kanemura:
Hope you're the next rage.
For filmmaker Edgy Lee,
Many stories to tell;
And Mapuana de Silva?
You're Hawaiian Air's belle.
For Noland and Tony,
For Nohe and Larrin;
One lu'au together?
Garanz ball baranz.
For O-shen, Cruz, Paiva,
Fuga, Helm and Hapa,
A whirlwind of music
Heard from Kailua to Kalaupapa.
To you sistahs and bros,
You Mr. and Ms.:
Mele Kalikimaka!
