NEW DELHI — Raphael Jacquelin of France shot par 72 in windy conditions today to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds of the Indian Masters.
An eagle on the 14th hole helped Jacquelin overcome three bogeys for a 6-under 210 total at the Delhi Golf Club.
Overnight leader Damien McGrane (75), Jose Manuel Lara (71) and Graeme McDowell (73) were one shot back. Ernie Els shot a 69, good for a six-way tie for 10th.
Els has slowly improved throughout the tournament after scores of 75 and 70. His opening round included a quadruple-bogey 9.
"Swinging 75 on the first day was really disappointing," Els said. "I made a 9 and that cost me four shots on one hole. If it wasn't for that hole, I would've had a really good chance.
"I'm swinging well and playing quite consistently, but struggling a little bit on the greens. I'm having a tough time reading the putts."
