WAILUKU, Maui — Chelsea Clinton was greeted today by hula dancers,

cheerleaders and a crowd of 200 Maui residents during a campaign rally for

her mother, Sen. Hillary Clinton.

The younger Clinton was accompanied by state Sen. President Colleen

Hanabusa, co-chair of Sen. Clinton's Hawai'i campaign, and all three of

Maui's state senators: J. Kalani English, Shan Tsutsui and Roz Baker.

The crowd crammed into the courtyard of the David K. Trask Jr. Building in

Wailuku, headquarters of the Hawaii Government Employees Association, which

has endorsed Clinton.

In brief remarks, Clinton reminded supporters of the unexpected importance

of the state's Democratic Party caucus and urged them to attend one of eight

caucus meetings to be held Tuesday night on Maui and Lana'i.

Following the Maui event, Clinton returned to Honolulu and was due to leave

the state tonight.
