KIHEI — The installation of a fiber-optic cable will close a lane of traffic on Piilani Highway in Kihei this week, the state Department of Transportation has announced.

The north-bound lane of the highway between Kanani Road and Lipoa Street will be shut down from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Motorists should exercise extra caution and allow more time to travel through the work area.
