Kahului Public Library will host "The Art of Taiko," featuring taiko drum artist Kenny Endo and his ensemble at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 23 in the Hawaiiana Reading Area. Admission is free.

Endo and his ensemble will present a lecture-demonstration on the art of performing with taiko (Japanese drums).

The one-hour program, which is recommended for all ages, is presented by the University of Hawai'i at Manoa's Statewide Cultural Extension Program, and funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the Maui Friends of the Library.
