Brandi Fitzgerald had 21 points and 11 rebounds as Nevada defeated Hawai'i, 75-65, yesterday in a Western Athletic Conference game at Reno, Nev.

Dellena Criner added 19 points for the Wolf Pack (9-6 overall, 1-1 WAC), which led by as many as 17 in the second half.

Tanya Smith had 14 points and 17 rebounds, her 11th double-double of the season, for the Rainbow Wahine (4-10, 1-2), who closed to 60-55 with a little more than six minutes to play. But that was as close as the 'Bows would get.

Saundra Cariaga added 13 points, and reserves Leilani Galdones (11 points) and Megan Tinnin (10 points) also contributed to UH's effort.

UH moves on to the third game of a four-game road trip, playing at Fresno State on Thursday at 5 p.m., Hawai'i time.

RANKED WOMEN

NO. 1 CONNECTICUT 92, LOUISVILLE 71: Maya Moore had 23 points to lead four teammates in double figures as the Huskies (15-0, 3-0 Big East) beat the Cardinals (11-5, 0-3) at Louisville, Ky., to match their best start since 2002-03.

Tina Charles had 19 points and 14 rebounds for UConn, Renee Montgomery and Ketia Swanier added 12 points apiece and Brittany Hunter had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies, who silenced the 19,123 fans packed into Freedom Hall.

"We know we're not going to win every game we play by 40 or 50," UConn coach Gino Auriemma said. "That's not realistic, not in our league. There's too many good teams. We also know we're not going to play great every night. We're not going to look like the No. 1 team in the country on every possession."

No. 5 Rutgers 69, Seton Hall 47: Matee Ajavon had 21 points, five assists and five rebounds to help the Scarlet Knights (13-2, 3-0 Big East) win their eighth straight, while ending the Pirates' (11-3, 2-1) seven-game winning streak at Piscataway, N.J.

Epiphanny Prince had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kia Vaughn added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights, who led 31-14 at intermission.

No. 25 Oklahoma State 82, No. 6 Oklahoma 63: Andrea Riley scored a career-high 45 points and the host Cowgirls (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) raced to a 30-17 halftime lead at Stillwater, Okla., to beat the Sooners (10-3, 1-1) and Courtney Paris, who had 15 points and 19 rebounds for her 74th consecutive double-double.

Fans stormed the court after the game, and coach Kurt Budke shouted into a microphone to thank the crowd of 13,611. "We could not have done this tonight without the greatest crowd in America," he said. "I think tonight we might have seen the best player in the conference in Andrea Riley."

No. 7 Stanford 83, Oregon 49: Candice Wiggins scored 20 points, Jillian Harmon had 15 points and nine rebounds, and the Cardinal (14-3, 4-2 Pac-10) rolled past the Ducks (8-8, 2-3) at Stanford, Calif. for their 12th straight home victory.

"When you allow Stanford to shoot 51 percent you don't have much of a chance to win the game," Oregon coach Bev Smith said.

No. 8 Baylor 59, No. 13 Texas A&M 56: Danielle Wilson had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Angela Tisdale, after missing her first 10 3-point tries, hit a trey with 38 seconds left to lift the host Lady Bears (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) over the Aggies (12-4, 0-2) at Waco, Texas.

"She (Tisdale) did what seniors should do," Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. "She got rattled but she kept her composure and never quit shooting."

No. 9 California 61, Oregon State 45: Devanei Hampton had 14 points and 12 rebounds, and the Golden Bears (15-2, 6-0 Pac-10) hit their first six shots en route to a 14-2 lead and were never threatened thereafter in beating the Beavers (8-8, 1-4) at Berkeley, Calif., for their first seven-game winning streak in 16 years.

No. 21 Wyoming 62, TCU 45: Justyna Podziemska scored 19 points and Elizabeth Dissen added 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting to lead the Cowgirls (14-1, 2-0 Mountain West Conference) past the Lady Frogs (8-8, 1-1) at Laramie, Wyo.

No. 24 DePaul 66, Providence 55: Caprice Smith scored 15 points and Felicia Chester added 13, helping the Blue Demons (12-3, 1-1 Big East) turn back the Friars (10-5, 0-2) at Providence, R.I., to snap a two-game losing streak.
