A big crowd is expected for a Fourth of July celebration at Ma'ili Beach Park, from noon to 10 p.m. Friday.

Hosted for the first time by the Westside Athletic Foundation, the free event will feature keiki rides, bounce houses, games, food and craft booths, and entertainment — by Fiji, JBoog and Cirque Hawaii, as well as several other acts. Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will make a special appearance. There will also be a fireworks display.
