Albert C. Kobayashi Inc. has been named design-assist partner and general contractor for the first phase of the University of Hawai'i's West O'ahu campus in Kapolei.

The company will help university officials manage the project, including cost estimates and other pre-construction matters. Groundbreaking for the first phase is expected during the first quarter of 2009. UH-West O'ahu's first phase will consist of six buildings that will be able to accommodate more than 1,500 students.
