Aloha United Way, Hawai'i's largest charitable fundraising program, has included the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement as a donor gift designation choice in the fundraiser's 2008 campaign, according to an AUW news release.

CNHA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit promoting cultural, economic and community development in Hawai'i, according to the release. Its network of more than 100 community-based organizations is vital to the well-being of Hawai'i, operating charter schools, delivering health programming, providing affordable housing services, applying cultural knowledge, growing Hawaiian language speakers, and connecting the strength of Hawaiian communities to Hawaii's most basic social and economic challenges, the release said.

"The inclusion in AUW's donor choice program comes at a critical juncture for the work happening in communities across the state," said Robin Puanani Danner, CNHA President & CEO. "We're grateful to have community programs founded on Hawaiian culture become a choice for donors. Mahalo nui to AUW!"

As one of more than 200 AUW approved Donor Choice Agencies, CNHA will be listed as an eligible designation on the AUW Web site and campaign materials starting in October of this year. To support the CNHA network through AUW, donors must add CNHA's Donor Choice Designation Code 73931 on the AUW pledge form.
