Volunteers to clean up Geiger Gate entry today
Motorists are advised to use caution and slow down today as they drive on Geiger Road and Roosevelt Avenue near the Geiger Gate Entry that separates 'Ewa Beach from Kalaeloa, the former Barbers Point Naval Air Station as about 50 community volunteers conduct a sprucing up of the area.
The project is organized by the Kalaeloa Community Network, part of the Hawaii Community Development Authority, and takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The work includes the installation of planter beds along the road shoulders and rock beds along the median strip. Curbs and the guard shack will be painted and new signage will be put up.
