Wild Bird Rehab Haven, a Hawai'i nonprofit dedicated to the care and release of Hawai'i's orphaned and injured wild bird population, is recruiting volunteers to assist with rescue and rehabilitation of O'ahu's wild birds.

WBRH is holding a free training seminar on baby bird care and basic injury and illness recreation room from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Regency Park condominium recreation room.

Experienced volunteer rehabilitators from Wild Bird Rehab Haven will provide instruction.

"So many people find baby birds and no one knows what to do," said Phoenix Morgaine, director of the organization. "We receive calls everyday from people who find birds but our group is limited in the number of birds we can care for. Ultimately our goal is to establish a rehabilitation center here on O'ahu for the birds, but until that time we are asking caring members of our community to help us raise and release orphaned birds out of their homes and adopt nonreleasable birds in need of a permanent home."
