A 21-year-old woman awaiting trial for burglary at the O'ahu Community Correction Center fled from her attorney's car today while on a court-ordered supervised release.

Roxanne Pikake Garcia is still at large tonight. Police are investigating the case as a first-degree escape.

Circuit Judge Richard W. Pollack, who granted Garcia's supervised release today so her attorney George Burke could take her to the Hina Mauka substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation facility in Windward O'ahu for an assessment meeting, issued a bench warrant this afternoon for Garcia's arrest.

Garcia left OCCC today at 8:15 a.m. to attend the assessment meeting. Following the meeting, her attorney drove her back to OCCC and Garcia fled from his car while they were in the parking lot. She was last seen running across Dillingham Boulevard.

Her escape was reported to police by Burke at 11:47 p.m.

Garcia stands 5 feet 3 and weighs 140 pounds. She was being held at OCCC in lieu of $75,000 bail for two counts of burglary.
