WESTMINSTER, Md. — Baltimore Ravens starting offensive tackle Adam Terry was carted off the field this morning at McDaniel College, clutching his left leg and screaming in pain after flipping over running back Ray Rice.

Terry underwent surgery in January to repair his left ankle and appears to have aggravated that injury. He didn't put any weight on it and was yelling and pounding his fist into the ground after getting hurt during the contact drill.

The extent of the injury remains unknown and Terry is still undergoing tests. He is the Ravens' second starting tackle to be hurt seriously in the past four days.

Terry had shifted from right tackle to the left side to take over for Jared Gaither, who is out indefinitely with a sprained right ankle.

Former practice squad lineman Mike Kracalik filled in at left tackle for the rest of practice with third-round draft pick Oniel Cousins running with the first offense at right tackle.

"I'm not sure what you can attribute it to, but we're going hard and we want to go hard," center Jason Brown said. "It's a consequence of the game."

After Terry's injury, general manager Ozzie Newsome was on the field making calls on his cell phone after talking with coach John Harbaugh.

The Ravens were considering signing former Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Barry Sims this summer, but he opted to sign with the San Francisco 49ers.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata confirmed that he has a mildly sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

"It's just a little minor thing," said Ngata, who is wearing a brace on his leg. "It's just a speed bump that I'm trying to get over. I'll be back sooner than you guys think."
