Former Kahuku High and University of Hawai'i standout Natasha Kai has been named to the roster of the U.S. women's soccer team that will play at the 2008 Peace Queen Cup in South Korea this month.

Kai has scored a team-high 10 goals for the U.S. women, who are 13-0-1 this year. In the team's last appearance, Kai scored three goals to help beat Canada, 6-0, in a friendly at RFK Stadium in Washington on May 10.

Coach Pia Sundhage also selected Abby Wambach and Lindsay Tarpley, who have scored nine goals apiece this year.

The 22-member team features 11 players from the U.S. 2004 Olympic gold medal squad.

The U.S. opens the Peace Queen Cup June 15 against Australia, then faces archrival Brazil on June 17 for the first time since the Brazilians routed the Americans in last year's World Cup semifinal. The Americans conclude group play against Italy on June 19.

The other group will have South Korea, New Zealand, Canada and Argentina.
