Fire officials this morning had yet to determine what sparked a blaze that destroyed two homes late last night in the Salt Creek subdivision in 'Ewa.
Fire Capt. Robert Main said the damage estimate for the home at 91-984 Waimomona Place was set at $360,000 to the structure and $50,000 to the contents.
Damage to the home next door, at 91-992 Waimomoa Place, was set at $360,000 to the structure and $70,000 to the contents, which included a damaged car in the carport, Main said.
A rare, third-alarm was sounded for the 9 p.m. fire because the homes in the area are very close together and there were concerns the blaze would spread even further, Main said.
