State official to give tourism talk in Kona

The state's tourism liaison will travel to Kona Wednesday to give a presentation on how the closures of Aloha Airlines and ATA and the reduction of cruise ship port calls are affecting tourism on the Big Island.
Marsha Wienert's address to the Governor's West Hawai'i Community Advisory Council also will discuss the state's efforts to assist affected employees, ensure continuity of service and bolster tourism to the island and the state.
The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawai'i Authority Gateway Center, 73-4460 Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway, Room 101. A question-and-answer period will follow Wienert's her presentation. For more information, call 327-4953.
