Tennis: Nadal wins first grass-court title

LONDON — Rafael Nadal has become the first Spaniard in 36 years to win a grass-court title, beating third-ranked Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon tuneup at Queen's Club.
Nadal's 7-6 (6), 7-5 win over the Australian Open winner on Sunday increased the Spaniard's chances at Wimbledon, particularly after his resounding straight sets win over No. 1 Roger Federer in the French Open final.
Federer has won the last five Wimbledon crowns but lost the finals at the last two Grand Slam tournaments to Djokovic and Nadal. The Swiss won his fifth title at Halle, Germany, earlier Sunday to extend his streak on grass courts to 59 wins.
