Wie finishes with 69, ties for 24th at Wegmans LPGA tournament

Michelle Wie had her best round of the week, a 3-under 69, today in the final round of the Wegmans LPGA at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, N.Y.
Wie, an 18-year-old Punahou alum and Stanford student, finished tied for 24th at 4-under 284. She earned $18,887. Eun-Hee Ji shot a 67 and finished at 272 to earn the $300,000 first prize.
Starting on the back nine, Wie played bogey-free with birdies on four par-4s, Nos. 10, 14 and 18, and made the turn at 3 under.
On the front nine, she bogeyed two par-4s, Nos. 3 and 6 and birdied Nos. 4 and 8, both par-5s.
Wie and Kimberly Kim will be paired for the first two rounds of the U.S. Women's Open, which starts Thursday at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minn.
Wie and Kim, a former Big Island resident now living in Arizona, will be joined by Julieta Granada of Paraguay.
Cyd Okino, a 14-year-old Punahou student, also qualified for the tournament.
