College: Indiana athletic director to step down

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana University has announced athletic director Rick Greenspan will resign at the end of December.
The resignation comes amid NCAA allegations that former men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson committed four major recruiting violations during his 1 1/2-year tenure at the school.
Indiana is awaiting a decision on penalties from the NCAA's infractions committee, which spent two days listening to the university's defense on June 13 to 14.
