KUMU KAHUA THEATRE is seeking 6 actors for its production of Lee Cataluna's comedy "Da Mayah," opening Aug. 28. Roles are available for: one local female late 20's to late 30's, one local female late 30's to early 50's, two local males early 20's to late 30's, two local males early 40's to 50's. ALOHA PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY will be holding auditions for 30 actors/readers for its 15th annual Original Play Festival. The scripts chosen will be available for on-site perusal beginning July 1; 2:30 p.m. July 6 and 6:30 p.m. July 7; Aloha Theatre, Kainaliu; for more information: 808-322-9924.
PALIKU THEATRE will be holding auditions for its fall musical "Miss Saigon," directed by Ron Bright, with performances starting Oct. 3. Principal and ensemble roles are available for Asian and Asian/American singers, ages 16-35, and adult non-Asian roles for Ellen, Chris, John and military personnel. There is only one child role, male or female Asian or Asian-American ages 4-5, no taller than 40 inches and no more than 25 pounds. MAUI ONSTAGE will be holding general auditions for the 20082009 season (appointment required, otherwise anticipate a wait). Those attending this audition are automatically listed for callbacks for other shows in the season. Nonsinging performers' acting auditions are from 11:30-1 p.m. Musical theater vocal/acting (must have a song prepared; bring your complete sheet music plus lyrics, as an accompanist will be provided) auditions are from 1-4 p.m. July 12.
