A Village Park man accused of 24 counts of sexual assault has been charged and his bail set at $1 million.

Police said yesterday that Albert Ancheta Pedro, 38, had been charged with 24 counts of sexual assault, including four counts of continuous sexual assault of a minor.

Pedro was arrested at a Kauweke Place address at 4:05 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. Police said there are at least three victims — a 33-year-old woman and two girls, ages 10 and 5.

He was in custody last night and is expected to appear in district court tomorrow.
