Smelly tank in Kalihi Kai not a hazard, HFD says

The Honolulu Fire Department's hazardous materials unit today cleared a 750-gallon storage tank discovered at a Kalihi Kai construction site.
HFD spokesman Capt. Robert Main said hazmat conducted tests and was 90 percent certain that the foul-smelling contents of the tank was transformer oil and not a hazard. Hazmat was dispatched to the Republican Street site at 11:12 a.m.
