How Hawai'i Reps. Neil Abercrombie and Mazie K. Hirono and Sens. Daniel Akaka and Daniel K. Inouye voted in key legislation last week.

    KEY HOUSE VOTE

    1. Renewable energy and conservation tax

The House voted 236-182 on Wednesday to rescind $13.7 billion in subsidies to five major oil and gas companies to offset $18.1 billion in renewable-energy tax breaks. Citgo, owned by Venezuela, is not one of the five to lose its subsidies, which angered many Republicans. The measure now goes to the Senate.

    KEY SENATE VOTES

    WHAT'S AHEAD

The Senate is expected to next consider legislation to increase funding to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and fine companies manufacturing faulty products. The Senate also could consider a mortgage-foreclosure prevention measure that was stripped from the economic stimulus package. The House starts anew on an overhaul of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and could vote on a bill to regulate mental-health coverage.
