The life of Kahekili — the pre-Western-contact warrior chief said to be the father of Kamehameha the Great — will be dramatized by kumu hula Hokulani Holt and halau Pa'u O Hi'iaka in an acclaimed production titled "Kahekili." The piece portrays Kahekili in war and peace, employing dance styles that existed during his lifetime. In 2006, "Kahekili" was named an American Masterpiece by the National Endowment for the Arts.

FILM: MARCH 18

The 2006 film "Only the Brave," right, will be screened as a benefit for the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i. Directed by Lane Nishikawa, "Brave" tells the story of the legendary, all-volunteer 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team. It stars Jason Scott Lee, Mark Dacasco and Tamlyn Tomita. DVD sales will benefit Hawai'i chapters of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

"The Lion King" musical is long gone, and even grand opera season is over, so it's back to the classics at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Cellist Zuill Bailey guests with the Honolulu Symphony in a pair of MasterWorks concerts, "A Salute to Russian Masters." On the program: Borodin, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.

Here's one for the guys: More than 200 exhibitors will offer the latest in electronics, gadgets, health and fitness, sporting goods at the Hawaii Big Boy's Show. Other attractions include a poker tourney, beer garden, video-game competitions, entertainment and yes, a Hooters bikini contest.

Multiplatinum-selling alt-rock band Incubus, below, whose discography runs from 1995's "Fungus Amongus" to 2006's "Light Grenades," comes to Islands for a pair of concerts — one in Honolulu, another on Maui — after touring Australia and Asia. Once again thousands of yellow thingies will invade the Ala Wai Canal in a benefit for the United Cerebral Palsy Association. The first 50 ducks — adopted for $5 each — win prizes for their sponsors in this 21st Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race for the nonprofit agency. The ducks hit the water at 1:21 p.m. from the Kalakaua Avenue Bridge; McCully Shopping Center once again hosts pre-race activities — entertainment, food, games and even duck store — from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

CONCERT: MARCH 28

Rap star 50 Cent, right — of "Get Rich or Die Tryin,'" "The Massacre" and "Curtis" fame — headlines a concert that also features the group G Unit (co-founded by 50 and now signed to his label) and Isle R&B singer Afatia. This will be 50's second gig in Honolulu — he made his Isle debut in 2003. G Unit's posse of rappers includes Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and DJ Whoo Kid. Afatia was the R&B artist of the year at the 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.

Hands-on educational activities will fill the fourth annual Mad About Science Festival, right, at the Bishop Museum's Great Lawn and surrounding areas. Archaeology, marine biology and astronomy are among the fields to be explored; and there are behind-the-scenes tours of the museum's collections. While you're there, you can take in all of the museum's exhibits, including the current "Animal Grossology."
