Photojournalist Gerd Ludwig will share his techniques and approaches in a presentation titled "Soul and Meaning," from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Architecture Auditorium. (Popular demand prompted a change in venue from an earlier-announced, smaller Krauss Hall site.)

The award-winning Ludwig has worked primarily for National Geographic magazine, especially on topics such as ecology and Russia and East Germany. His book "Broken Empire: After the Fall of the USSR" was published by National Geographic in 2001.
