UH track qualifies six for regionals
Advertiser Staff
The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team opened the outdoor season with a bang yesterday — establishing six NCAA regional marks, winning four events, and setting two meet records and two school marks at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.
"This was by far the best performance at an outdoor meet we've ever had," said eighth-year head coach Carmyn James. "Last year we qualified seven athletes to regionals but that didn't happened until after the WAC Championship (UH's final meet of the season). We had six today even without Annett (Wichmann), who will qualify this year in both the javelin and high jump."
