Big Island roadwork resumes today

The State Department of Transportation has several road projects resuming this week on the Big Island. There will be no roadwork done on Wednesday in observance of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole Day state holiday.
QUEEN KA'AHUMANU HIGHWAY
WIDENING PROJECT, PHASE I
Modified traffic pattern in both directions near the Makala Boulevard intersection through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing work. Traffic lanes in both directions will remain open during this work.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)
NEAR PA'AUILO
Single-lane closures in alternating directions near Pa'auilo. One lane at a time will be closed from Hauola Road (near Mile Point 33) to the Ka'ala Bridge (near Mile Point 36) through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for shoulder lane resurfacing and guardrail installations.
During this closure, traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.
NEAR NINOLE
24-hour single lane closure in the east-bound direction near Ninole, approximately one-quarter mile west of Miller Road, near Mile Point 19.3, for culvert repair work.
During this closure, traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals and contraflowed in the remaining open lane. Completion of this project is anticipated in May 2008.
NEAR HAKALAU BAY
Single-lane closures in both directions near Mile Point 15.5, between Leopolino Road and Old Hakalau Mill Road near Hakalau Bay through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for bridge repair work.
During these closures, traffic will be contraflowed through the area in the remaining open lane.
