Road projects slated across Kauai this week

The State Department of Transportation has announced the following road projects on Kaua'i this week. Unless otherwise noted, there will be no roadwork on Wednesday in observance of the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole Day state holiday.
KUHIO HIGHWAY
PAVEMENT RESURFACING
Lane closures in both directions between Hui Road (near Mile Point 15) and Ko'olau Road (near Mile Point 20) through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.
Motorists are advised to expect intermittent delays of no more than 15 minutes and to allow for extra travel time. Completion of this project is anticipated in May 2008.
FULL CLOSURE NEAR WAINIHA BRIDGES ON THURSDAY NIGHT, INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC DELAYS DAILY (NIGHT WORK)
Kuhio Highway will be closed in both directions near the Wainiha Bridges on Thursday night to Friday morning, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge installation and pavement surfacing work.
During this closure, a shuttle van will provide transportation for residents, businesses and guests with lodging on the Haena side of the bridge. Secured parking areas on both sides of the bridges will be provided. Visitors are discouraged from accessing this area during the full closure.
Motorists are also advised to anticipate intermittent traffic delays of no more than 15 minutes at this location through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.
Completion of this project is anticipated in April 2008.
KAUMUALI'I HIGHWAY
INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC DELAYS NEAR RICE STREET
Possible traffic delays on Kaumuali'i Highway in both directions near the Rice Street intersection through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.
Crews will be working on a slope stabilization project on the hillside adjacent to the highway. Intermittent delays of no more than 15 minutes may be expected as heavy equipment is positioned during construction activities.
KUAMOO ROAD
GUARDRAIL AND SHOULDER IMPROVEMENTS
Lane closures on Kuamo'o Road in both directions at various locations through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.
Intermittent delays of no more than 15 minutes may be expected as heavy equipment is positioned during construction activities.
