UH's Amanakis named WAC Track Athlete of the Week

Hawai'i junior Thalia Amanakis was named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.
Amanakis, a junior from Sydney, Australia, won the 400-meter hurdles the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, Calif., in a meet record and NCAA regional qualifying time of 58.52. seconds. She also qualified for the NCAA regional in the 400-meter hurdles last year.
Amanakis also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in a personal best 13.95.
