Baseball: Astros to activate third baseman from DL
Associated Press
HOUSTON — The Houston Astros will activate third baseman Ty Wigginton from the 15-day disabled list tomorrow, when the team opens a three-game home series with Milwaukee.
To make room for Wigginton on the roster, the Astros will option right-handed pitcher Jack Cassel to Triple-A Round Rock.
Wigginton went on the disabled list April 12 with a fractured left thumb. The Astros acquired Wigginton last July in a trade with Tampa Bay for reliever Dan Wheeler.
Cassel went 1-0 in two starts for the Astros this season. The Astros won both his outings, on April 24 at Cincinnati and April 29 at Arizona.
