Extradition status of Kaneohe slaying suspect unknown

Honolulu authorities may learn as early as tomorrow whether a fugitive arrested last week plans to waive or fight extradition from Alabama to Hawai'i to stand trial on charges related to the May 2007 slaying of Benjamin Grajeda in Kane'ohe.
Reginald Carlos "Red" Pettway, 30, was arrested in Mobile on a $2 million warrant charging him with first-degree burglary and being an accomplice to first-degree robbery vand kidnapping. Pettway is being held by the U.S. Marshals Service in Alabama.
Arraignment and plea, meanwhile, is scheduled tomorrow at Circuit Court in Honolulu for two others charged in the Grajeda case.
Jerrico Dewon "Rick" Lindsey, 28, is accused of second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening and four firearm charges.
Melissa Ordonez, 22, also known as Rihanna Joy Valentino, is charged with being an accomplice to first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and kidnapping.
Lindsey and Ordonez are being held in lieu of $3 million and $2 million bail, respectively.
A fourth suspect, Charles Lee Freeman Jr., has pleaded guilty to charges, which initially included kidnapping and hindering prosecution.
